The Maki Beds connector for ChatGPT and Claude
Ask an AI assistant you already use about your property. It reads your own Maki Beds data and changes nothing.
What it does
The connector is a read-only MCP server at https://mcp.makibeds.com/mcp. Once the property owner connects ChatGPT or Claude, the assistant can answer questions such as who arrives today, whether a unit is free and what it costs, a booking's balance, or how one month compares with another. Answers come from your Maki Beds data at the moment you ask. It cannot book, change prices or message guests.
Only the account owner can turn it on and connect an assistant. Other team members cannot use it.
Set it up
1. In Maki Beds, open Settings › Platform › Integrations and turn on «Allow ChatGPT / Claude to read this property». 2. Under «Connect an assistant», pick the assistant and what it may read, then choose Connect. 3. In your assistant, add a custom connector with the address https://mcp.makibeds.com/mcp and sign in with your Maki Beds account when it asks. If your assistant is not in the list in step 2, it is not available for your account yet.
Turn it on and connect the assistant once, before you add Maki Beds in ChatGPT or Claude: in Maki Beds, open Settings › Platform › Integrations, turn on «Allow ChatGPT / Claude to read this property», then under «Connect an assistant» pick the assistant and choose Connect. Otherwise ChatGPT shows «action discovery failed» when you add the connector.
What each tool reads
The assistant picks the tool; you just ask. Every tool only reads. The plans each one is in are listed after it.
- Who arrives and who leaves today, and any booking held but not yet paid. (All plans)
- Whether a unit is free for the dates you give, and the price of that stay. (All plans)
- The same for up to 8 date options in one go, such as every weekend of a month. (All plans)
- One booking by its reference: dates, status, total, amount paid and balance. On Powered and Native it can also find a booking by part of the guest's name, without returning the name. (All plans)
- What needs attention now: arrivals in the next 7 days, balances still due, open tickets and conversations waiting. (All plans)
- Nights sold, occupancy and revenue for one period. On Foundation, the current month only. (All plans)
- The recommendations Maki Beds already prepared for the property. Full cards on Native. (All plans)
- Arrivals in the next 7 days. (Powered and Native)
- Bookings that still have a balance to pay. (Powered and Native)
- Open maintenance tickets with their titles. (Powered and Native)
- Month-by-month figures for up to 12 months, for the property or per unit. (Powered and Native)
- The same figures for two periods side by side, with the difference. (Powered and Native)
- Nights already booked for the coming weeks, against the same point last year. (Native)
- A facts report of the property, with charts. (Native)
Data and privacy
What the assistant can see. Only what you allowed when connecting, within your plan: booking references (the 8-character code in the guest's confirmation email), unit names, dates and nights, number of guests and pets, booking status and channel, amounts (totals, paid, balances, quoted prices, taxes and fees), payment type and status, occupancy and revenue figures, counts of arrivals, open maintenance tickets, guest reports and conversations waiting for a reply, maintenance ticket titles written by you or your team, and the recommendations Maki Beds already prepared for your property.
What it never sees. Guest names, email addresses, phone numbers, postal addresses, ID documents, card details, the content of your conversations with guests, and the text of guest reports. Text your team writes, such as a ticket title, is sent as written after we hide anything that looks like an email address or phone number, so keep guest details out of it.
The full rules are in section 4A of our privacy policy.
Limits
Each plan has daily limits, counted per property and reset every day at 00:00 UTC. One connection can use at most 60% of each daily limit. Today's usage is shown in the same settings page.
| Limit | Foundation | Powered | Native |
|---|---|---|---|
| Calls per day | 100 | 400 | 1,000 |
| Calls per minute | 10 | 30 | 60 |
| Price quotes per day | 30 | 100 | 250 |
| Period summaries per day | 3 | 10 | 20 |
| History reachable | Current month | 12 months | 24 months |
When a limit is reached, the assistant says so and which plan has more.
Turn it off or revoke
In Settings › Platform › Integrations, turn off «Allow ChatGPT / Claude to read this property». Every connected assistant is refused from its next request. Turning it back on lets your existing connections read again.
In the same place, under «Connections», choose Revoke next to that assistant. It is refused from its next request, and using it again means connecting it again. You can also remove the Maki Beds connector inside ChatGPT or Claude.
Maki Beds sends nothing more to that assistant. What it already received stays in your chats with it, governed by the assistant provider's own terms and settings (OpenAI for ChatGPT, Anthropic for Claude); delete those chats there if you want them gone. On our side we keep a record of each request (which tool, when, the outcome and which bookings it covered), never the answer itself and never your prompts.
